The Common Campus is a collaborative initiative that unites colleges, universities, and industry partners across New England to create a sustainable pipeline for the biofabrication workforce. Our mission is to connect education, workforce development, and industry needs through clear, stackable and modular pathways that help learners of all ages and backgrounds enter and advance in this fast-growing field.
As a key component of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, the Common Campus plays both a regional and national role in strengthening the talent pipeline for biofabrication. By coordinating across institutions, we reduce duplication, expand access, and ensure that programs remain aligned with employer demand—creating a model that can be scaled and replicated nationwide.
Launched in 2024 with support from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Common Campus builds on years of collaboration between higher education and industry leaders in New Hampshire. Today, it stands as a shared “digital front door” for learners, job seekers, and employers, offering a unified way to explore programs, find training, and connect to career opportunities.
What is Biofabrication?
Biofabrication is the process of using living cells, biomaterials, and advanced manufacturing techniques to build tissues, organs, and biologically relevant systems. By combining biology with engineering and manufacturing, biofabrication creates new ways to repair, replace, or regenerate human tissue—and opens the door to breakthroughs in healthcare, biotechnology, and advanced materials.
In New Hampshire and across New England, biofabrication is also a driver of economic growth. Regional employers are projected to create thousands of new jobs in the coming decade, with high demand for skilled technicians, engineers, and scientists. This makes it critical to build clear education pathways and training opportunities that prepare today’s learners for tomorrow’s careers.
